My three facts

My three facts about Maui and the giant fish

  1. As i read on I found out that Maui's brothers were none other than greedy pigs who didn't  really care about their people's well being

  1. In time the giant fish became known as the north island of aotearoa which is now I habited with people of all different cultures and religion

  1. Over many hundreds and thousands of years, the gullies and mountains became part of Aotearoa as we know it today. Birds, plants, animals and the people of Hawaiki populated the giant fish of Māui.

  1. Hi Awaroa,

My name's Ruby and I'm one of the people who will be blogging with you for the Summer Learning Journey. I'm really looking forward to reading what you have to say on your blog!

This is a really good start to your activities. I like how you have talked about what happened to Aotearoa after Maui fished the North Island up from the sea. That was a good thing to add.

I wonder why Maui's brothers were so annoying and unkind to Maui? Do you have any ideas about why that might have been? I think they might have been jealous of how good Maui was at fishing.

Have you read any other stories about Maui? Another really good one is Maui and the Sun. Here is the link if you are interested in reading it:

Let me know what you think!
    Cheers,
    Ruby.
